Stanford-Fresno State Baseball Series Moved To Fresno

Jan. 23, 2001

Stanford, Calif. - The collegiate baseball series scheduled from January 26-28 at Sunken Diamond between Stanford and Fresno State has been moved to Fresno due to construction delays in the remodeling of Sunken Diamond. The three-game set at Beiden Field on the Fresno State campus will begin with Friday night's series-opener at 7:00 p.m. The games on Saturday and Sunday are both scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

'We're disappointed that Sunken Diamond will not be available for the Fresno State series and apologize to Stanford Baseball fans about the delay,' said Stanford head coach Mark Marquess. 'However, we are excited about the new opening date scheduled for February 9. The remodeled Sunken Diamond is going to be a beautiful facility for Stanford Baseball.'

The remodeled Sunken Diamond is now scheduled to open February 9 when the Cardinal hosts Florida State in a three-game series between two teams that participated in the 2000 College World Series. Friday's series-opener begins at 6:00 p.m. with the games on Saturday (February 10) and Sunday (February 11) both starting at 1:00 p.m.
