Washington St. Downs Texas-Pan American, 71-63

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Mike Bush scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds tolead Washington State to a 71-63 non-conference victory over Texas-Pan Americanon Monday night.

The Broncs raced to a 10-point lead in the first half on 60 percentshooting, but were unable to close out the Cougars (8-10, 1-7 Pac 10) down thestretch.

Sparked by Bush and junior center J. Locklier, Washington State used a 19-9run midway through the second half to take control of the game and handTexas-Pan American (8-12) its 11th loss in 12 road games.

Locklier had 16 points and seven rebounds.

Four Broncs scored in double figures, led by Mire Chatman with 17 points andBrian Merriweather with 16.
