USC Men Sweep UC Santa Barbara 7-0

Los Angeles, Calif. -- The 13th-ranked USC men's tennis team (3-1) earned its first clean sweep of the season by winning all nine matches for a 7-0 victory over UC Santa Barbara this afternoon at Marks Tennis Stadium.

In doubles, Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey won a tight 8-6 match over the Gauchos' Marcin Kosakowski and J.J. Stewart, while Andrew Park and Damien Spiezo won the tiebreaker for a 9-8 victory over Scott Schnugg and Alex Yaftali.

Singles play was an easy sweep for the Trojans who won at each position in two sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 decision by freshman Ruben Torres over UCSB's Yaftali.

With a week off, the Trojans will host San Diego next Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Marks Tennis Stadium. This week, USC's Andrew Park will compete at the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Feb. 1-4 in Dallas, Texas.
