Alek Kim To Play For Singles Title At ITA Indoor Championships

FARMERS BRANCH, Tex. - Stanford senior Alex Kim (Potomac, MD) is set to play for the singles title of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the third leg of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Grand Slam at the Brookhaven Country Club.
Kim beat Duke's Ramsey Smith, son of tennis legend Stan Smith, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in today's semifinals. Kim has a 16-match win streak dating back to last season. He reached last year's Rolex semifinals and is looking for his second career ITA Grand Slam title.
Kim will face Arkansas' Oskar Johansson, a 6-1, 7-6 (7) upset winner over SMU's top-seeded Genius Chidzikwe in the semis.
This season, Kim has won his two dual matches that he competed in (Oregon and Washington) and all four of the matches at this weekend's tournament.
The final is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. (CST) start, following the women's final.
