WSU's Perkins Defeated In Consolation Quaterfinals

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - Washington State's No. 51-ranked Erica Perkins was defeated in the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket in the women's singles at the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, Saturday.

After upsetting Florida's No. 34th-ranked Lindsay Dawaf 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of consolation play, Perkins was eliminated from the tournament after suffering a 6-2, 6-2 loss at the hands of Virginia Commonwealth University's 12th-ranked Martina Nedelkova, Saturday.

Nedelkova went on the capture a win over Princeton's No. 40th-ranked Kavitha Krishnamurthy in the semi-finals, due to injury. Nedelkova will take on North Carolina No. 11th-ranked Marlene Mejia, Sunday in the final round of consolation play.
