Women's Indoor Track & Field Has Three Individual Winners At Wolf Pack Invitational

RENO, Nev. - The Stanford women's indoor track & field team had a strong showing on Saturday at the annual Wolf Pack Invitational, hosted by the University of Nevada at Reno Livestock Events Center.
The Cardinal took the top two spots in the 800 meters as freshman Ashley Couper (Pembroke, Bermuda) won the event with a time of 2 minutes, 11.71 seconds. Junior Maurica Carlucci (Franklin, MA) was second with a 2:12.35 mark.
Stanford also finished first and third in the high jump with Kim Stone (Irvine, CA) taking the top honors with a mark of 5 feet, 10 3/4 inches. Cheryl Burdick (Ramsey, NJ) had a jump of 5-3 3/4, good for third place.
Stanford finished second in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:55.16 to Nevada, which clocked in at 3:53.17. Junior Laura Turner (Portsmouth, RI) turned in a time of 4:58.67 to take third in the mile while Jillian Camarena (Woodland, CA) finished third in the shot put, recording a 49-2 1/4.
In the 55 meters, Lindsey Johnson (Kennewick, WA) was the top Stanford finisher in 15th place with a time of 7.44. Robyn Woolfolk (Ann Arbor, MI) recorded a 7.64 (24th) and b had a 7.74 (27th). The same three athletes competed in the 55 meters low hurdles with Johnson finishing seventh with an 8.27. Bush (8.48) and Woolfolk (8.52) finished 13th and 14th, respectively.
In the pole vault, Stanford's top finish came from Kathleen Donoghue (San Diego, CA) a mark of 11-11 3/4 (4th). Leila Ben-Youssef (Sidney, MT) was fifth, also with a vault of 11-11 3/4 while Melissa Feinstein (Weston, MA) came in 11th with a 11-5 3/4.
The Cardinal is next in action this weekend at the Iowa State Invitational in Ames, Iowa.
