Wrestling Throttles Cal State-Fullerton 45-0

FULLERTON, Calif. - - The Oregon State wrestling squad - ranked 15th in the nation - dismantled Cal State-Fullerton as the Beavers swept all ten matches en-route to a 45-0 Pacific-10 Conference victory on Saturday night.

The Beavers got pins from Ben Richards, Shane Cunanan, Eric Jorgensen, and Jake Huffman, as none of those matches made it out of the second round.

Jorgensen earned the quickest fall on the night, taking Brian Spalliero to his back in 2 minutes, 12 seconds.

Jason Lovell opened the meet with an 8-2 decision over Babak Nejadmaghaddam in the 197-pound bout, and Jason Cooley followed that with a 7-1 win over Chad Troxler.

Michael Delaney took care of Brian Gilliland 14-7 in the 125-pound match, Paul Barron dispatched Josh Spencer 7-4 at 149, and at 184, Isaac Weber claimed a 7-2 win over Josh Ready to end the meet.

OSU's Nathan Coy won by forfeit at 174 pounds.

The Beavers came out strong after defeating Cal State-Bakersfield 22-16 earlier Saturday afternoon.

Oregon State's next action will be against Oregon, when the Beavers host the season's second Civil War on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Gill Coliseum.
