Women's Golfers Finish 15th at TRW Challenge

The UCLA women's golf team finished 15th Wednesday in the TRW Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State at the Palos Verdes Country Club.

The Bruins final round team score of 305 gave them a 54-hole total of 940, one shot better than Michigan State and one shot behind South Carolina.

Top-ranked Arizona won the event with a three-round score of 884, followed by New Mexico State at 895 and Stanford at 900.

Individually, freshman Melissa Martin was UCLA's top finisher, tying for 37th place at 231, followed by senior Leilani Bagby, who tied for 51st at 235. Senior Laura Moffat tied for 69th at 241, freshman Saki Uechi tied for 75th at 244 and freshman Gina Umeck tied for 79th at 245.

Arizona's Natalie Gulbis won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 214, followed by teammate Lorena Ochoa, who posted a score of 216.
