Men's Basketball Falls To Washington State, 57-53

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Framecio Little scored 16 points, including three freethrows in the final 30 seconds, to lead Washington State to a 57-53 win overOregon State on Saturday night.

The Cougars (11-12, 4-9 Pac-10) jumped to an early 20-8 lead. But theBeavers (9-16, 3-10 Pac-10) chipped away from the free throw line, connectingon 13 of 18 attempts and cutting the Cougar lead to only seven points athalftime.

Oregon State continued its surge in the second half. The Beavers puttogether a 17-8 run late in the game. They grabbed their first lead when JasonHeide made two free throws with 3:47 remaining in the game.

But Washington State freshman Marcus Moore provided the game-winning pointson a dribble-drive with 1:03 to play. Little and junior center J. Lockliersealed the win for Washington State by converting on four free throw attempts.

Locklier scored 13 points and Mike Bush added 11 to join Little in doublefigures for the Cougars.

Heide led the way for Oregon State, scoring 18 points and collecting 10rebounds.

The win gave Washington State its first back-to-back conference wins sincethe Cougars beat Oregon and Oregon State in January 1997.
