Feb. 19, 2001

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Reshea Bristol scored 18 points and Krista Warren added 17 as Arizona beat Southern California 77-61 Sunday.

The Wildcats, who shot 60 percent from the field, pulled away in the late stages of the first half after back-to-back lay-ins by Warren started a 10-3 run.

Bristol continued to exploit the Trojans' defense with a jumper to open the second half as Arizona (18-7, 8-5 Pac-10) built a 56-39 lead with 12:51.

USC (9-13, 4-8) trimmed the lead to 60-53 with 11 straight points. Ebony Hoffman and Jessica Cheeks hit a pair of field goals apiece during that span.

A three-point play by Elizabeth Pickney with 7:11 left stopped USC's run and enabled the Wildcats to pull comfortably ahead.

Veranda James finished with 12 points and Pickney 11 for Arizona, which led 38-32 at halftime.

Hoffman led the Trojans with 11 points while Tashara Carter added 10.
