Women's Golf In Third After First Round Of Arizona Invitational

Tucson, Ariz. - The No. 3 USC women's golf team shot an outstanding 295 first round and is in third place heading into the second round as play continues at the Arizona Invitational held on The Raven golf course in Tucson, Ariz., on Mon.-Wed. (Feb. 19-21).

USC is just two strokes back of first place Arizona (293) and one back of Duke (294). Stanford (298) is three strokes back of the Women of Troy, while New Mexico State (302) is fifth.

USC has four golfers in the top 20 thus far, including sophomore All-American Candie Kung, who is tied for third (72), senior Nicole Dalkas, who is tied for ninth (73), sophomore Mikaela Parmlid, who is tied for 13th (74) and junior Leila Chartrand, who is tied for 20th (76). Freshman Anna Rawson is tied for 58th (80).

The second round resumes on Tuesday and the tournament concludes on Wednesday, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on both days.
