The Athletic Department Urges Fans to Contribute to the OSU Food Drive

Feb. 22, 2001

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State University Student-Athlete Advisory Board and Sodexho Marriott have combined efforts in order to contribute to the OSU Food Drive which will benefit local food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, day care centers, shelter homes, and gleaning groups in Linn and Benton counties. The SAAB is comprised of student-athletes from all of OSU's intercollegiate athletic teams.

In connection with SAAB's efforts to collect canned goods as part of the OSU Food Drive, Sodexho Marriott has announced it will provide coupons for one free popcorn or one free Rice Krispy treat to individuals who bring in two or more items of canned goods to the men's basketball game vs. UCLA at 3pm on Saturday. Collection bins will be located in the lobby of Gill Coliseum.

All items collected on Saturday will be included as part of the annual OSU Food Drive. To date, the OSU Food Drive has raised over $9,000 and 21,000 pounds of food.
