Wildcats Lose In Overtime To Arizona State, 70-67

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Cian Carvalho scored six of her 10 points in overtimeas No. 23 Arizona State beat Arizona 70-67 on Saturday.

Betsy Boardman added 16 points and Amanda Levens 14 for the Sun Devils(19-7, 11-3 Pac-10), who completed a season series sweep of the Wildcats forthe first time since 1993.

It was the first home loss in 14 games for Arizona (18-8, 8-6), which hadwon six straight conference games at McKale Center.

The score was tied at 61 heading into overtime, and Carvalho put ArizonaState ahead to stay at 68-67 on two free throws with 1:15 remaining. Levensadded two more foul shots with 18 seconds left.

Reshea Bristol's 3-point attempt from the top of the key fell short at thebuzzer for Arizona, which had beaten the Sun Devils seven consecutive times inTucson.

Veranda James led the Wildcats with 22 points. Elizabeth Pinckney had 19points, and Bristol 10 points and 14 assists.
