WALNUT CREEK, CA -- UCLA senior designated hitter Brian Baron has been named Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week for February 19-26, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Baron, from Newhall, Calif., hit .750 with three RBI and two runs scored in UCLA's wins over No. 16 Tulane and No. 10 Pepperdine. Against the Waves, Baron went 4-for-5, driving in the game tying run with a double in the ninth inning. His hit set up the game-winning run. Against Tulane, he went 2-for-3 with two RBI. He currently leads the Bruins with a .510 batting average and 26 hits in 13 games. He has hit safely in every game this season.
