Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week (3/5/01)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE guard Felicia Ragland has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 26-Mar. 4, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Ragland, from Tulare, Calif., averaged 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Beavers swept No. 22 Arizona State and Arizona. On the week, Ragland shot 47 percent from the field (17-of-36) and 53 percent from beyond the arc (8-of-15).

In the 72-64 win over Arizona State, Ragland scored a career-high 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, notching her 500th career board in the contest. She buried 6-of-7 three-point shots and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor in her first five shot attempts, including three treys. In the 67-66 win against the Wildcats, Ragland added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds in OSU's first victory over Arizona in nine meetings.

Ragland leads the Pac-10 in scoring (19.8 ppg) and is averaging 21.8 points in Conference games. Oregon State (16-11 overall, 8-9 Pac-10) has won five straight and concludes Pac-10 play Saturday at Oregon.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Ragland's career and the 22nd all-time selection for Oregon State.
