Men's Golf Finishes Tenth at Cleveland Invitational
March 6, 2001
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - The Oregon men's golf team finished the final round of the Cleveland Golf Classic in tenth place on Tuesday, behind a final round 72 by T.J. Duncan, at the 6,815 yard, par-71, North Ranch Country Club.
'It was very wet on the golf course this morning, which required different tactics,' said Oregon head coach Steve Nosler. 'We did better, not great, but better. I'm still not happy overall with the results.'
'T.J. [Duncan] had probably one of the biggest turnarounds in the tournament. He hadn't played in awhile, so it was good for him to get a good round in.'
Oregon State's David Yarnes was the medalist for the tournament, shooting a composite of 142, including a one-under 70 in the first round. Arizona State earned team championship honors with a composite of 581.
Up next, Oregon hosts the Duck Invitational, on March 26-27 at the Eugene Country Club.
