Men's Golf Wins USC Tournament

The Arizona State men's golf team won its first tournament of the year as it defended its title at the USC/Cleveland Golf Classic this afternoon at the Northranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif.

ASU finished 13-over par (1,149) and beat Texas Christian by six strokes. Oregon State finished in third at 24 over. The tournament was shortened to two rounds due to bad weather on Monday.

For ASU, Jin Park (71-72=143) and Matt Jones (73-70=143) both shot 1-over par while 2000 U.S. Amateur Champion Jeff Quinney finished at 5-over 147 (76-71). Freshman Chez Reavie posted a 178 (74-74), while Shane McMenamy posted a 13-over 155 (79-76).

Chris O'Connor led the Sun Devils playing as individuals with a 10-over 152 (73-79), while Ben Flam shot a 12-over 154 (79-75). Brady Stockton shot a 17-over 159 (82-77).
