Men's Golfers 10th after First Round at North Ranch

The UCLA men's golf team is 10th after the first round of the Cleveland/Southwestern Golf Classic, hosted by USC at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

The Bruins, who posted a team score of 306, are five shots out of fourth place and trail eighth place New Mexico and California by one shot. They are one shot ahead of Minnesota and Oregon.

Arizona State is first at 294, followed by Washington and Oregon State, which are tied for second at 296.

Individually, freshman Steve Conway fired an even par score of 71 and was tied for second place with Arizona State's Jin Park. Both players were one shot behind Oregon State's David Yarnes, who posted a one-under par score of 70.

The Bruins' other players posted the following scores: freshman John Merrick, 77, junior Parker McLachlin, 78, freshman Roy Moon 80 and freshman Travis Johnson, 81.
