UW Women's Soccer Team Announces Eight-Game Spring Schedule

SEATTLE - The Washington women's soccer team will play eight spring games in March and April in preparation for the 2001 regular season that begins on Sept. 1 at Northwestern.
The spring session starts on Saturday, March 3 on the road against Portland at noon. The Pilots visit Seattle to conclude the spring schedule on Saturday, April 21 for one of three Washington home games. Kick-off is 11 a.m. at Husky Soccer Field.
The Huskies host the Canadian under-18 National Team in back-to-back games. They meet on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, March 29 at 4 p.m.
Twice Washington plays two games in two days. On April 7 in Eugene, Ore., UW meets the host Ducks at 9 a.m. before meeting Montana at 3 p.m. The second game features a rematch of the NCAA Tournament second round game that the Huskies won 5-0 en route to their first ever Sweet 16 appearance.
On April 13, the Huskies meet George Mason in Fairfax, Va. at 11 a.m. (Pacific Time) and then travels to Richmond, Va. to meet Richmond at 5 p.m. PST.
Washington uses the spring campaign to prepare for the regular fall season in which they seek to defend their first ever Pacific-10 Conference title.
Coach Lesle Gallimore enters her eighth season next fall, having guided the Huskies to five NCAA Touranment berths in her first seven seasons.
The Huskies look to replace six players from the 2001 team that finished 18-3 and 8-1 in Pac-10 play.
