Conway Ties for Second Place at Cleveland Classic

UCLA freshman Steve Conway tied for second place and the Bruins finished 13th in the rain-shortened Cleveland Classic, hosted by USC at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.
Conway posted a 36-hole total of 143, one-over par, and tied with Arizona State's Matt Jones and Jin Park. Oregon State's David Yarnes won individual honors with a score of 142.
The Bruins finished 13th at 610 after posting a score of 304 in the second round. They were one shot behind California at 609 and one shot ahead of BYU at 611.
Arizona State won the tournament with a two-round total of 581, followed by TCU at 587 and Oregon State at 592.
Other UCLA individual scores were as follows: freshman John Merrick tied for 35th at 151, Junior Parker McLachlin tied for 67th at 159 along with teammate Roy Moon, and sophomore Travis Johnson tied for 75th at 160.
The Bruins' next tournament is the Oregon Duck Invitational, Mar. 26-27, at the Eugene Country Club.
