Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At Spartan Invitational

The Stanford women's golf team shot a three-round total of 877 to finish in fourth place at the Spartan Invitational held at the Corral de Tierra Country Club in Salinas, Calif. New Mexico State won the tournament with an 869, followed by Pepperdine (870) and Arizona State (875). Rounding out the top five was Washington (890).

Cardinal Hilary Homeyer tied for eighth individually with a 217 (72-74-71) while teammates Stephanie Keever (73-73-75) and Angela Rho (76-73-72) tied for 14th with a three-day total of 221. Freshman Marcia Wallis tied for 21st (81-71-73) with a 225 and Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 30th (83-77-68). Jessica Belskis, competing as an individual, tied for 66th (80-82-79).

Washington's Kelli Kamimura took top individual honors carding a 209 (74-69-66) for the tournament.

As a team, Stanford's three-day total of 877 is a season-low. Hilary Homeyer's 217 three-day total is also a season-low. The Cardinal's final round of 284 ties their season low.

Stanford is next in action at the Ping/ASU Invitational held in Tempe, Arizona, April 6-8 at the Karsten Golf Course.
