WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA senior center Loren Woods has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 5 - 11, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Woods, from St. Louis, Mo., led the No. 8 Wildcats to a sweep over the Bay Area schools by averaging 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the team's two wins.

In the victory over No. 1 Stanford, Woods scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds. His efforts on the boards helped the Cats' post a 36-27 rebound advantage. In the win at Cal, he scored 22 points (15 in the second half) and added nine rebounds (six in the second half). For the week, Woods shot 10-of-19 (.526) from the floor and 12-of-16 (.750) from the line to go with three blocks and two steals.

It is the third weekly award for Woods, the 53rd all-time honor for the Wildcats.
