Women's Golf Ranks Eighth After First Round Play at UCLA Bruin Classic

TEMECULA, Calif. - With a team score of 303, the University of Oregon women's golf team took eighth out of a field of 18 in the first round of competition on Monday at the 11th Annual Pioneer Electronics Bruin Classic at the 6,019 yard, par-72 Menifee Lakes Country Club.
Oregon senior Jerilyn White led the Ducks with a score of 74, leaving her at 2-over-par for the round, tying for 24th. Next in line for Oregon, senior Dawn Berry tied for 33rd, shooting 3-over-par for a round of 75.
Shooting a career best round of 76, sophomore Megan Heckeroth tied for 43rd. Heckeroth records her second week of personal bests by topping her previous score of 78 at last week's Verizon 'Mo'morial at the Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, Texas.
Host UCLA led the tournament with a 291, followed by Pepperdine and Oklahoma, both a stoke back.
Due to darkness on Monday, Oregon will complete second round play Tuesday at 8 a.m. and third round play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
