Women's Tennis Defeats Texas, 5-2

BERKELEY - The eighth-ranked California women's tennis team upset fifth-ranked Texas, 5-2, Friday at the Hellman Tennis Courts. The Bears improved to 9-2 with their fifth-straight victory, while the Longhorns fell to 9-2.

The Bears entered doubles up 4-2 with victories by Christina Fusano at No. 2 singles, Rachel Kops-Jones at No. 3, Catherine Lynch at No. 5 and Sekita Grant at the No. 6 spot.

Cal earned the decisive fifth point with victories by its Nos. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams.
