LOS ANGELES -- Jordan Olson threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings to record his first collegiate win Wednesday and the No. 9 USC Trojans defeated the No. 13 Pepperdine Waves, 9-3, in non-conference action in front of 402 at Dedeaux Field.
Brian Barre's RBI single and Josh Persell's two-run double down the right field line in the seventh broke open a 3-3 game for the Trojans (16-10). Pepperdine (16-8) held a 3-0 lead before USC scored one run in the fifth and two in the sixth, including the game-tying RBI single by shortstop Seth Davidson.
Pepperdine's Eric Valenzuela held the Trojans to only one hit through the first four innings as the Waves scored twice in the fourth and once in the fifth.
