Sean Lampley to Play in NABC All-Star Game

March 21, 2001

BERKELEY - Pac-10 Player of the Year Sean Lampley, who recently completed his career as Cal's all-time leading scorer with 1,776 points, has agreed to play in the second annual NABC Roundball Challenge March 30 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Held in conjunction with the Final Four, the game pits a team of 12 of the nation's top seniors against the Harlem Globetrotters.

The NABC College All-Star team is selected by a coaches committee chaired by Oklahoma head coach Kelvin Sampson and DePaul head coach Pat Kennedy. The complete 12-player roster will be announced following the NCAA Regional championships March 25. The NABC Roundball Challenge replaced the annual East-West Classic in the Final Four in 2000 to provide the nation's top seniors with an opportunity to compete against professional players in an organized game.

The 6-7 Lampley led the Pac-10 in scoring with an average of 19.5 ppg. He also averaged 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the 2000-01 season.
