No. 21 Huskies Drop 2-5 Decision to No. 17 Pepperdine on Friday

MALIBU, Calif. - Junior Ilona Kordonskaya captured the lone singles victory on Friday as the 21st-ranked Washington women's tennis team rapped up a three-game road trip with a 2-5 loss to No. 21 Pepperdine at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. The Huskies fall to 12-6, while the Waves improved to 12-7 on the season.

Washington picked up the doubles point with wins at number one and two. The Husky tandem of10th-ranked sophomore Darija Klaic and senior Kristina Kraszewski, won the No. 1 doubles match 8-2 over the Wave's Monika Horvath and Paola Palencia. Freshman Claire Carter teamed up withKordonskaya to earn another victory at the No. 2 spot as the duo defeated Maren Mueller and Cintia Tortorella, 8-3.

Kordonskaya picked up the only singles victory of the day as she knocked off 74th-ranked Paola Palencia in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 3 position.

Washington is idle until next Friday, Mar. 30 when the Huskies travel to meet their Pac-10 rival Oregon. Matches are set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
