The nationally-ranked Stanford basketball team has reached the NCAA 'Elite Eight' for the second time in school history ... By virtue of a 78-65 victory over Cincinnati (3/22/01), the Cardinal will meet Maryland (24-10) in the championship game of the NCAA West Regional on Saturday (3/24/01) at 1:40 p.m. (pt) at the Anaheim Pond ... The winner advances to the NCAA Final Four (March 31, April 1) in Minneapolis, Minn. ... Stanford has reached the NCAA Final Four twice in school history, the 1942 NCAA championship season, and in 1998 when Stanford won the Midwest Regional in St. Louis ... All-American Casey Jacobsen scored a career-high 27 points to help lead the Cardinal to its victory over Cincinnati (3/22/01) ... Stanford shot a season-high .628 from the floor ... Jason Collins added 15 points and eight rebounds, while Ryan Mendez added 16 points and six rebounds, and Jarron Collins added 14 points and seven rebounds ...
