No. 6 Women's Gymnastics Heads To Michigan For NCAA Regional Championships

STANFORD, Calif. - Coming off of its Pac-10 Conference Championship performance last weekend, the No. 6 Stanford women's gymnastics team will travel to the University of Michigan for the NCAA Regional Championships, scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2001.
The Cardinal will be competing in the Northeast region along with five other teams that qualified for regionals, including No. 7 Michigan, No. 18 LSU, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Michigan won the Big Ten title while LSU placed fourth in the SEC. Massachusetts and Rhode Island were second and third, respectively, in the Atantic-10 and New Hampshire finished fourth in the EAGL.
At last weekend's Pac-10 Championships, Stanford edged No. 1 UCLA for its second conference crown in two years. Head coach Mark Cook was named the Conference Coach of the Year while freshman Lindsay Wing earned Freshman of the Year honors.
