WSU Volleyball Begins Spring Season

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State University volleyball team begins its spring competitive schedule this weekend with a tournament at Pepperdine University, according to Cougar coach Cindy Fredrick.

WSU will compete against Fresno State, University of San Diego, Loyola Marymount, and Pepperdine at the one-day tournament at Malibu, Calif.

The Pepperdine Tournament is the first of four for the Cougar spikers this spring. WSU volleyball will compete at Portland April 7, at the University of Washington April 21, and close the spring season with a tournament at home, in Pullman April 28. Set to compete in Bohler Gym are: Washington, Southwest Missouri State, Idaho, Gonzaga, and Lewis-Clark State.

The Cougars fall 2001 schedule opens Aug. 31-Sept. 1 with the Cougar Challenge Tournament featuring Pacific, Boise State, Gonzaga and Bradley.
