Louisiana-Lafayette Slips By Men's Tennis Team

March 31, 2001

LAFAYETTE, La. - The University of Oregon men's tennis team concluded its tough Southern road swing with a third consecutive setback Saturday afternoon at Louisiana-Lafayette, 4-3.

The Ducks dropped their top three singles matches and two doubles encounters to see their overall record dip to 8-9, while the Ragin Cajuns improved to 6-11.

Oregon senior David Becker and freshman Greg Dubourdieu picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, with Dubourdieu's second straight victory evening his overall record at 6-6.

'It was kind of a disappointing day,' sixth-year Oregon coach Chris Russell said. 'We took a step back, we just didn't compete as well as well as we need to nor did we play as well as we need to.'

Oregon will go after its first Pacific-10 Conference wins of the season next weekend when it travels to Arizona State Friday and Arizona Sunday.
