Roberts Finishes Seventh at Vandal Spring Invitational

MOSCOW, Idaho --- Washington State sophomore Shanelle Roberts finished seventh in the Vandal Spring Invitational, leading a list of five Cougars that entered the tournament as individuals.

Roberts tied her season best with a first round 77, and went on to shoot a 239 for the 54-hole tournament. Fellow sophomore, Donna Bell, carded a 245 and placed 12th.

Freshmen Natalie Bratkowski and Emily De'Ath also registered top 25 finishes. Bratkowski, a native of New Zealand, placed 21st, while De'Ath tied for 22nd. Jackie Stevens withdrew from the event after two rounds.

Idaho defended their home turf, the par 72 University Golf Course, by beating the next closest finisher, Boise State, by 31 strokes. Eastern Washington placed third.

Idaho also had the individual winner. Nicole Keller fired a 12-over par 228, and beat Eastern Washington's Kelly Gardner by five strokes.
