Six Cougars Finish in Top 20 at Inland Empire Intercollegiate

SPOKANE, Wash. --- Washington State used top 20 performances by six players to grab fourth place at the Inland Empire Intercollegiate, hosted by Eastern Washington University at the par 72 Downriver Golf Course.
The Cougars were led by junior Tasha Browner, who fired a 153 over two rounds to place eighth. Senior Jennifer Dodd and sophomores Donna Bell and Shanelle Roberts all finished one stroke behind Browner in a tie for 10th place. Bell fired the round of the day for WSU with her career-best 73 to open the one-day event.
Freshman Natalie Bratkowski also turned in a solid performance for the Cougars. The Auckland, New Zealand native tied for 16th with a 155. Fellow freshman Emily De'Ath, who entered the tournament as an individual, finished knotted for 19th after carding a 156.
Idaho continued to play the role of the nemesis for Washington State this spring, as they took top team honors. The Vandals beat second place Portland by five strokes, while British Columbia finished 10 strokes back in third.
Eastern Washington's Kelly Gardner won the individual medal on the strength of a second round 69. Portland's Megan Radonich played the course even over two rounds and placed second.
