Women's Golf Moves into Twelfth at PING/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Oregon women's golf team improved its standing in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational Saturday, shooting a combined 304 at the 6,090 yard, par-72 Karsten Golf Course. The Ducks finished the day in 12th place.

Redshirt freshman Lacy Erickson followed her first round score of 81 with the lowest of her collegiate career, a two-under par 70, moving into a tie for 23rd. Erickson's second round score is the lowest recorded among participants in this year's competition.

Senior Jerilyn White is tied for 10th after shooting a three-over 75, pushing her two-day total to 148. As it stands, White is just five shots out of the lead.

The PING/ASU Invitational has been held annually since 1965-66, with Arizona State claiming the tourney title 22 times in the 35-year-old competition. Oregon finished 13th in last year's tournament, shooting a combined 916. Play concludes Sunday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
