Beaver Wrestling Camp

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's Beaver Wrestling Camp has announced the dates for its 2001 summer sessions on the OSU campus. The Individual Camp will be held June 24-28, while the Intensive Camp will be held June 24-July 2.
Both camps include instruction from Oregon State's coaching staff and wrestlers and top high school coaches from around the state. Areas covered include leg wrestling, leg takedowns, other takedowns, riding and pinning, escapes and reversals, and Olympic styles.
The Intensive Camp also includes emphasis on cardiovascular training, weight training, technical drills and live competition.
Each camper also receives an interactive notebook providing them with useful information regarding achieving success in wrestling. The camp includes discussion of goal-setting and other psychological skills, strength training, what weight class is right for each individual, and guidelines to use regarding diet and nutrition for success in wrestling.
Also covered will be academic requirements to compete on the college level, including the NCAA Clearinghouse, college entrance exams, or specific requirements for entrance to Oregon State. The camp staff can arrange for campus tours and/or talks with OSU admissions counselors. The camp includes an extensive recreation program, with tournament champions crowned.
Cost for the Individual Camp is $325 for resident campers or $220 for commuter campers. Cost for the Intensive Camp is $595 for resident campers or $300 for commuter campers. Commuter campers do not stay overnight in OSU dormitories or receive meals. A team discount is available.
