Women's Crew Captures Two Wins Against No. 10 California

Redwood shores, Calif. -- Women's crew faced the 10th-ranked California Golden Bears Saturday morning and despite a strong Cal team, the Cardinal snagged wins in two races.

Both the novice eight and varsity four took victories in the meet. The novice eight grabbed an early lead and held on for the eight-second win after two losses to Cal last week at the San Diego Crew Classic. The varsity four rowers had already competed earlier in the day, but took its race with a 13-second margin.

The varsity eight cut its margin of defeat in half relative to last season's performance against the Golden Bears. The second varsity improved its race time by ten seconds.

The Cardinal return to action on Saturday, April 21 at 9 a.m. to race Oregon State at Redwood Shores. Stanford will then race No. 18 Texas at Redwood Shores on Sunday, April 22 at 9 a.m.
