Women of Troy Complete Sweep In Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. -- The 19th-ranked USC women's tennis team completed a sweep of the Washington schools with a 4-3 win over the 13th-ranked Washington Huskies at the Quillian Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Seattle. With the win, the Women of Troy improve to 16-6 overall and 4-2 in the Pac-10, while Washington falls to 17-7 and 7-2 in conference play.

Washington snatched the first point of the dual match after winning two of three doubles matches. The Huskies earned wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots, while USC's 12th-ranked duo of Tiffany Brymer and Jewel Peterson took the number one position 8-3 over Kristina Kraszewski and Darija Klaic.

In singles action, USC got the better of the Huskies by one match, gathering victories on courts No. 1, 3, 4 and 5. Peterson earned USC's only two-set victory with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Kraszewski at center court. Maureen Diaz, Brymer and Bernadette Bayani were forced to three sets in each of their matches before capturing the three wins to secure the match for the Trojans.

USC returns home to face Stanford and Cal on April 20 and 21.
