Men's Tennis Edges Arizona, 4-3

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Behind four singles wins, the Arizona State men's tennis team (10-11, 3-4 Pac-10) completed the series sweep over in-state rival Arizona, 4-3 today in Tucson, Arizona. ASU defeated UA, 5-2 earlier this year in Tempe.
The Wildcats earned the early lead by taking two of the three doubles matches for the first point. In an exciting tie-breaker, Nic Dubey and Matt Klinger won the lone doubles match for the Sun Devils as they defeated the 36th-raked tandem of Steven Capriati and Carl Hagman, 9-8 (4).
In singles action, Arizona State claimed four of the six singles matches to win the dual, the four singles wins were all straight set victories. Dubey won easily on the No. 1 court where he defeated Capriati, 6-4, 6-2. Klinger then won his match on the No. 2 court with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 over Tom Lloyd.
Freshman Olivier Charroin won his match on the No. 5 court, while ASU's other freshman Jarrod Eckermann clinched the dual with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over UA's Bruno Aropovic.
Up next, Arizona State will head to Ojai, California to compete in the Pac-10 Championships, April 26-29.
