UC Irvine No Match For Women's Tennis

Irving, Calif. -- The University of Oregon women's tennis team picked up its fifth win of the season Saturday, defeating UC Irvine, 6-1. Saturday's win marks the first for the Ducks since their April 1 contest against Pacific.

Four Oregon competitors recorded straight-set victories. Freshman Davina Mendiburu stretched her winning streak to nine matches with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Natalie Exon at the No. 2 position.

The Ducks surrendered just one loss on the day.

'It was a good match,' said Oregon head coach Jack Griffin. 'We played solidly. It was great to get a win.'

Oregon will face No. 46 San Diego State Sunday, April 22 at Noon in San Diego.
