Men's Tennis Falls to No. 16 Washington, 6-1
April 21, 2001
Seattle, Wash. - In the second meeting of the season, Oregon fell again to No. 16 Washington, 6-1. The Ducks end their season with a loss in Seattle, closing out this year with a losing record of 8-13.
Oregon picked up their sole victory at No. 1 singles as sophomore Oded Teig took the Huskies' Matt Hamlin to three sets, winning 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.
'We got great performances from Oded Teig and Jason Menke, but some of our young guys, our freshman, showed our inexperience in singles,' said Oregon head coach Chris Russell. 'Hopefully over the next year we will develop in that area.'
Up next, the Ducks will compete in the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, Calif., April 26-29.
