Oregon Volleyball Fills 2002 Roster
April 24, 2001
EUGENE- The University of Oregon volleyball team filled its 2002 roster with junior transfer Lindsay Closs (Fresno State), Oregon head coach Carl Ferreira announced today. Also joining the squad for next season is freshman Amy Reyonlds (Roseville, Minn./Concordia HS).
Closs, who will be a junior at Oregon after completing two years at Fresno State, is a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Spokane, Wash. Closs finished her sophomore season at Fresno State with 294 kills (2.58 per game) and a .260 hitting percentage. Closs missed most of her freshman season with an injury, but finished the year with 55 blocks and 87 digs while hitting .215.
Reynolds, who was slated to join Oregon last season, didn't join the team until April 2 because of academic reasons. A 6-foot-3 middle blocker from Roseville, Minn., Reynolds was a first team all-Metro and all-State selection her senior year. She was the team captain for her high school team and also played for the Northern Lights Volleyball Club. A two sport athlete, Reynolds was also an all-Conference Honorable Mention in track and field her senior year (high jump/discus). Reynolds is a three-time all-Tri-Valley Conference selection.
