UCLA Women Ranked No. 1 in Trackwire National Top 25; Bruin Men Tied for No. 21

In this week's (April 23) Trackwire National Top 25, Jeanette Bolden's UCLAwomen are still rated No. 1 in the U. S., ahead of No. 2 USC, and Art Venegas'Bruin men are tied for No. 21.
For four of the last six weeks, including the last two weeks, the Bruin womenhave been rated No. 1, ahead of the No. 2 USC women.This week, the Bruin men are tied for No. 21 with South Carolina and BYU. Lastweek, the UCLA men were tied for No. 18 (with George Mason).In this week's (April 23) IAAF/USATF Team Power Rankings, the UCLA women areagain No. 1 and the Bruin men are No. 4. Last week, the UCLA women were No. 1and the Bruin men were No. 2.
The Trackwire National Top 25 is based upon how a team will score at theupcoming NCAA Outdoor Championships, May 30-June 2 at Eugene, OR. The IAAF/USATFTeam Power Ranking is based upon a team?s individual marks and dual meetstrength.
This weekend (April 26-29), the Bruin women hurdlers and sprinters will be atthe Penn Relays. The rest of the UCLA women and the Bruin men?s squad will be atUC Irvine, competing at the Cal/Nevada Championships.
Looking ahead, UCLA and USC will battle on Saturday, May 5 at USC, in theschools' annual dual meet. In this week's Trackwire rankings, the USC women areNo. 2 and the Trojan men are tied for No. 16. In this week's Team PowerRankings, the Trojan women are No. 6 and the USC men are No. 3.
