Women's Tennis Ends Regular Season on High Note

Los Angeles -- The UCLA women's tennis team won the doubles point then took five of six singles matches, cruising to a 6-1 victory over Oregon at the Los Angeles Tennis Center Wednesday. With the victory, UCLA closes out the regular season with a 7-17 overall record and 3-5 mark in Pac-10 play. Oregon finishes the season 6-16 overall and 0-8 in conference action.
The Bruins received singles victories at the top five positions, as Sara Walker, Catherine Hawley, Lauren Fisher, Petya Marinova and Mariko Fritz-Krockow each notched straight set wins. Oregon won its point at the No. 6 slot where Vickie Gunnarsson defeated Jennifer Donahue, 7-5, 6-1.
Next up for the Bruins will be the Pac-10 Championships, April 26-29 in Ojai, Calif.
