Trojan Tracksters Put Up Good Marks At Cal State Fullerton Open

The USC women's track and field team picked up some more NCAA qualifiers as both the mens' and women's teams competed at the Cal State Fullerton Open on Thursday (Apr. 26).
Among the top marks:
--Junior Aleksandra Deren of Gorzaw, Poland, ran a personal-best 2:04.18 to win section one of the 800m. The time is the second-fastest in the nation this year behind senior teammate Brigita Langerholc (2:03.20), an NCAA automatic qualifying time and fifth fastest on the all-time Women of Troy chart.
--Freshman Leslie Erickson of Lacey, Wash., won the javelin throw with a personal-best and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 154-4. The mark is eighth on the all-time Women of Troy chart.
--Freshman L'Orangerie Crawford of Santa Monica threw a personal-best and NCAA provisional 191-2 to finish third in the hammer behind fellow Trojan Julianna Tudja (NCAA prov. 197-0) and she also won the shot with an NCAA provisional distance of 51-10 1/2.
--Junior Angela Williams won the 100m in a time of 11.42. Williams has already automatically qualified for the NCAAs in the 100m.
On the men's side, sophomore Harrison Lee hit his personal-best in the hammer with a distance of 180-2, senior Djeke Mambo won section two of the 100m in 10.65, junior David Ojeda won the 3000m steeplechase in 9:40.0 and senior Justin Cox won the triple jump with a mark of 49-1 3/4.
Both teams will take this weekend off before taking on UCLA in the 68th annual dual meet at Loker Track and Field Stadium on May 5th.
