UW Men's Tennis Loses in Semifinals of Pac-10 Championships

OJAI, Calif. - Washington men's tennis player Dillon Ruby lost in the semifinals of the Pac-10 Invitational Championships Saturday afternoon to Scott Lipsky of Stanford, 6-0, 6-2. Lipsky will face fellow teammate, Ali Ansari, in the championship match on Sunday morning.
Ruby posted three wins over top opponents to reach the semifinal round. After taking care of Scott Merryman of USC, 6-3, 6-1, in the round of 32, Ruby defeated California's Ben Miles in two sets, 6-4, 6-1, to advance to the quarterfinals. Playing against Scotty Scott of Stanford, Ruby defeated the Cardinal, 6-3, 7-6 to advance to the semifinals.
The championship matches for both singles and doubles will begin Sun., April 29, at 9:30 a.m. Next up for the Huskies will be NCAA regional action May 11-13, with sites and opponents to be determined this week.
