Softball Jaime Clark Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

April 30, 2001

SEATTLE - Washington sophomore shortstop Jaime Clark (Tustin, Calif.) has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week following her outstanding performances in the team's four games last week, the conference office announced Monday.

Clark led the Huskies to a 4-0 mark during the week, including wins over third-ranked Stanford and fourth-ranked California. In that span, Clark hit .615 (8-for-13) with two home runs, three doubles, four runs scored and seven RBI for a .643 on-base percentage and a 1.308 slugging percentage. She is now hitting .364 on the season and .419 in conference play. In addition to her offense, Clark also showed her defensive prowess by going perfect in the field in 13 chances.

The honor is the second of Clark's career and the second for a Washington player this season. Senior second baseman Christie Rosenblad (Fillmore, Calif.) also was named Pac-10 Player of the Week back on February 12.
