No. 3 Softball Travels To Sacramento State For Pair Of Games

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 3 Stanford softball team is headed to Sacramento State on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader at Shea Stadium. The Cardinal brings a 44-9-1 overall record into today's games while the Hornets are 17-32 on the year. The first game is set for 2:00 p.m.

Both teams are looking to snap losing streaks as the Cardinal dropped three in a row over the weekend while the Hornets lost two of three. In Pac-10 play, Stanford was swept for the first time this year, dropping a game to Washington and two games at UCLA. Sac State lost two to Cal Poly but managed to take one game from the Mustangs.

Stanford is led by junior outfielder Jessica Mendoza, who is hitting .433 with 13 home runs. Leading the offense for Sac State is Jillian Bivert with a .303 average and 19 RBI. In the circle, Maureen LeCocq has a 1.15 ERA with a record of 14-7 for the Cardinal. Bivert is also leading the Hornet pitching staff with a 1.77 ERA and a 6-12 record.
