Stanford Alum QB Stenstrom Signs With Denver Broncos

DENVER (AP) - The Denver Broncos added a fifth quarterback to their rosterTuesday, signing free agent Steve Stenstrom to a contract on Tuesday.

Stenstrom, a former star at Stanford, will compete with Jarious Jackson andRonnie McAda for the third quarterback spot when training camp opens thissummer.

Brian Griese returns as Denver's starter, and Gus Frerotte is the backup.

In 17 career games with three teams, Stenstrom completed 56 percent of hispasses for 1,895 yards with four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has playedfor the Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers but was cutby the Detroit Lions in training camp last year.
