Laura Granville Named Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Year

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The top-ranked and undefeated Stanford University women's tennis captured both Pac-10 Player of the Year and Pac-10 Doubles Team of the Year honors, the conference announced on Monday.
Sophomore Laura Granville (Chicago, IL) brought home Pac-10 Player of the Year honors after recording a 22-1 dual record and leading the Cardinal to a second straight undefeated regular season and a conference title. Granville is the defending NCAA Singles Champion and the top-ranked player in the nation.
Junior Lauren Kalvaria (Indialantic, FL) teamed with freshman Lauren Barnikow (Woodbridge, NJ) to bring Pac-10 Doubles Team of the Year honors to The Farm. The duo is the top-ranked doubles team in the country, and has won 20 of its 23 dual matches.
Granville and Kalvaria also earned First Team All-Pac-10 honors, while junior Gabriela Lastra (Reno, NV) was named to the Second Team.
Stanford opens up NCAA Tournament play at home at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium when it takes on Boston University on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Second Team All-Pac-10: Claire Carter (Washington), Maureen Diaz (USC), Raquel Kops-Jones (California), Anita Kurimay (California), Gabriela Lastra (Stanford), Erica Perkins (Washington State).
