UW Men's Tennis Players Hanlin, Bizjak Earn All-Pac-10 Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - In the annual vote by conference coaches, Washington men's tennis players Matt Hanlin and Andrej Bizjak were named to the All-Pac-10 second team Monday afternoon.

Hanlin, a sophomore out of Birmingham, England, earned All-Pac-10 honors for the second straight year. Playing in the No. 1 position for the Huskies throughout the season, Hanlin has a 22-11 overall record in singles play and 16-13 in doubles. He is currently ranked 55th by the ITA.

Junior transfer Andrej Bizjak, who comes in at No. 56 in the ITA rankings, held down the No. 2 spot for the Huskies for much of the year. He finished the regular season with a 22-12 record, 17-16 in doubles play. This is his first selection to the all-conference team.

Alex Kim of Stanford was named Pac-10 men's player of the year, while Peter Wright of California was named men's coach of the year.

The Huskies (18-7, 3-4) take on unranked Hofstra in the first round of NCAA postseason play this Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. The winner will face Notre Dame or Harvard in the second round.
